What plant would you recommend for a sunny window?Updated 3 months ago

If you have a window that gets a lot of direct sun, many plants will not be able to cope with the high level of light (yes, even in Britain!) Our top picks for sunny windows - usually south- or southwest-facing - are mainly cacti and succulents. Within this group there is a lot of variety, so it’s worth exploring even if you’re not a fan of the usual desert cactus aesthetic! If you’d like some leaves on there, you could choose the ever-tolerant ZZ Plant, or pick a succulent Euphorbia that grows leaves alongside spikes. You can find our top sun-loving plant picks here or read about high light levels on our blog here
